Why Allen’s Hummingbird and More Species Are on the Move

Our warming climate is affecting where birds live, what they eat, and how they migrate.

In September 2014, 约炮视频 released the finding that climate change is the greatest threat to North American birds. Our scientists used hundreds of thousands of citizen-science observations and sophisticated climate models to predict how birds in the U.S. and Canada will react to climate change. Our work defines the climate conditions birds need to survive, then maps where those conditions will be found in the future.

Of the 588 North American bird species 约炮视频 studied, more than half are likely to be in trouble. Our models indicate that 314 species will lose more than 50 percent of their current climatic range by 2080.

You can help these birds affected by our changing climate. Check out these simple steps of what you can do.
