About the Artists
has always had grand ambitions for what music can be, but his method has sharpened over the years. On albums like 2012’s “Break It Yourself”, which cracked the Billboard top 10, he explores themes of autonomy, and how our choices ricochet throughout our lives. “My Finest Work Yet”, from 2020, received a GRAMMY nomination and found Bird touching on political themes through this same lens.
Renowned English supermodel ’s blossoming music career has seen the release of three full-length albums, “The Ghost Who Walks” and “Double Roses” and in spring of 2022 she released her third album “Green” to critical acclaim which was produced by the Grammy award-winning musical duo of Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk.
You’ve heard before. It’s her honeyed voice that opens Fleet Foxes’ 2020 record Shore – an experience that’s since earned her global critical acclaim. Though her career in music is now taking off, for Uwade, 21, singing has always been a kind of prayer. This stems, in part, from her spiritual upbringing – steeped in the sounds of hymnal choral music and Nigerian Highlife on her dad’s car radio – and her rigorous education. To describe her voice as a divine signal you’d read about in classic texts, at once ancient and altogether new.
If the highest compliment to a musician is to say that his or her band transports the listener, then bandleader is a travel agency extraordinaire unto himself, providing a one-way ticket to a fascinating time and place. His vintage-style 1920s/30s music instantly brings the audience to a raucous, uninhibited party where enjoyment reigns supreme. Only a mannequin would fail to get up and dance.
